Hendra Farm and Environmentally Responsible Tourism
We take pride in providing our guests with all the modern comforts they have come expect - all located in a clean, safe and tranquil setting. Hendra Farm is committed to seeking ways to reduce the impact of modern tourism on the environment. We have introduced practices to meet those requirements, such as monitoring use of resources and energy, using low energy bulbs in all cottages and outside areas, and reducing, reusing and recycling waste.
Hendra Farm offers fresh, home grown and nutritious fruits and vegetables in season. These are grown onsite without the use of chemicals, eliminating food miles.
We are committed to continually seek ways to introduce new measures to reduce our carbon footprint and to exceed guests' expectations in quality, delivery and cost through continuous improvement and guest interaction.
Our Environmental Policy
Congratulations on choosing one of the finest areas to visit, your taste is unquestionable. On the doorstep are wonderful walks, fishing and birdwatching. Close to hand are the stunningly beautiful coastline and ever changing Bodmin Moor. Millions, like you, visit Cornwall each year, many on bikes, most by car.
Hendra Farm is a clean farm with a fresh feel about it - we work hard to keep it that way. We want Cornwall to remain fresh and clean too, and in order that we do our part to protect the environment in which we live and earn our keep, these are some of the things we do:
- Comply with relevant environmental legislation
- Supply clean fresh water from our own spring
- Monitor and reduce our use of energy and resources
- Reduce, reuse and recycle all domestic and green waste
- Grow our own fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables
- Breed, sell and keep chickens to supply fresh eggs
- Use low energy light bulbs and double glazing in all cottages
